SERIES OVERVIEW: As we close out the semester, we will conclude our journey through the Old Testament by looking at the Exile period. Following warning after warning from His prophets, God decides to give the people of Israel what they want. He allows them to be taken by two of the empires that most exemplified sin unrestrained: Assyria and Babylon. Because God doesn’t force us to be faithful. He invites us to be faithful. In exile, there are men and women who resist the enticing pull of a culture that wanted to capture the minds and hearts of God’s people, not just their physical bodies. Throughout this series we will look at these characters and learn to stay faithful to Jesus in our day.
MAIN IDEA: God doesn’t force us to be faithful. He invites us to be faithful.
