Justice Declaration
Partner: Prison Fellowship
Signed by more than 12,000 Christians and prominent faith leaders, the Justice Declaration is a statement proclaiming the unique responsibility and capacity of the Church to address crime and over-incarceration. This white paper, “Responding to Crime and Incarceration: A Call to the Church,” and the resulting Justice Declaration (www.justicedeclaration.org) has been part of a collaborative initiative between the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the National Association of Evangelicals, and Prison Fellowship. Our prayer is that this deeper commentary on the relevant statistics, policies, and Christian teachings guiding our response to crime and incarceration will provide a framework for deeper dialogue and engagement among the Christian leader signatories and all Christians.
Those interested can participate in the National Road to Second Chances Prayer Walk or join or host a prayer walk in their own community. Through storytelling and prayer, we can spread hope and unlock brighter futures for men and women who have paid their debt to society!
