But after drug addiction had taken him to a hopeless place, he miraculously was healed—with no rehab—and started walking with Jesus. After retiring from pro football in 1986, he earned a Master's in Divinity, and he now pastors The Rock Church, a thriving ministry with significant Kingdom influence in San Diego.
